A $400M campaign by the University of South Alabama was announced on Thurs., April 23 — their largest capital campaign in university history. Titled ‘Where Bold Begins,’ the campaign’s goal is to expand educational opportunities, enhance patient care + advance innovation.

So far, the campaign has already raised $360 million toward its goal.

‘Where Bold Begins’ is South’s first capital campaign since 2020, which exceeded its 5-year, $150 million goal by nearly $12 million. To donate to this campaign, University of South Alabama’s alumni + friends can visit the campaign’s website HERE.

South’s funding priorities are:

  • USA Health
    • The region’s only academic health system
    • Includes University Hospital, Children’s & Women’s Hospital, the Mitchell Cancer Institute, Providence Hospital + more than 40 clinics and physician offices across the region
    • Employs more than 7,200 clinical + non-clinical staff
  • Construction of the new Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine building
    • Already nearing completion
  • The Stokes School of Marine and Environmental Sciences + critical needs across other academic units
  • International engagement
    • Includes study abroad opportunities
  • The new Geri and Gordon Moulton Jaguar Marching Band Complex
    • This opened this spring!
  • South’s expanding focus on educational opportunities + state-of-the-art facilities for the military community
