Mobile issues curfew for Friday night ahead of Hurricane Isaias
Reading time: 2 minutes

The City of Mobile will institute a general curfew beginning at 7PM this evening, Oct. 9, through 6AM, Saturday, Oct. 10, as Hurricane Isaias approaches the area. Residents are asked to stay in their homes during this time to allow first responders and other city staff to safely access the area and survey any damage the storm may cause.
For the City of Mobile, the biggest impacts from the significant weather event are expected to be:
- Storm surge
- Flash flooding
- Rain and wind damage
“We ask that residents find a safe place to ride out the storm and stay there, especially as conditions deteriorate throughout the day. Our dedicated crews and public safety personnel stand ready to assist in clean-up efforts as soon as Isaias has safely passed through our area.”
Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis
Residents in storm surge and flood-prone areas, manufactured homes or other structures that may not withstand hurricane-force winds are strongly urged to relocate to safer locations before conditions deteriorate. Staying with family or friends in a safer area is encouraged.
