Matt Mathews, a comedian and singer-songwriter from Birmingham, will be performing at Regions Arena’s grand opening celebration Saturday, March 6. Announced this morning via Regions Arena’s social media, Mathews is the first publicly confirmed talent to perform at the new Mobile arena.
His stop in Mobile will be a part of his “Not What I Ordered” world tour.

Get to know Birmingham-native Matt Mathews
With nearly 17 million followers across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube, Matt Mathews is a well-established comedian most known for his farm-themed comedy videos.
Mathews began his career as a professional boudoir photographer. In September 2019, he published a memoir titled “Uncovered: The Naked Truth of Life, Love and Addiction,” which shared his struggles with addiction as well as his experiences as a gay man living in Alabama.
During the pandemic, a friend of Mathews took a video of him doing his farm chores in his bathrobe — and it went viral. Now, the comedian has obtained international fame for his hilarious comedy show clips of crowd-work delivered with a Southern drawl.
