GRAND REOPENING: Yellowhammer Coffee in Downtown Mobile is back

You heard that right: Yellowhammer Coffee in Downtown Mobile is back for business! The beloved local shop was flooded with customers Tues., May 5, following Monday’s announcement on Facebook that they would be returning.
The downtown Yellowhammer location, which closed on November 13, 2025, for renovations, offered $5 off orders all day on May 5 as an apology for the delays in reopening.

Renovations complete at Yellowhammer Coffee on St. Louis St.
The Yellowhammer Coffee location in Downtown Mobile opened in 2023, after taking over the lease of a loaded tea shop. The Downtown Yellowhammer opened up almost overnight, in a space that wasn’t quite set up to be a coffee shop.

Thus, owner Jeff Roberts announced on November 6, 2025, that the shop would be closing on November 13 to be revamped. Although the renovations were initially predicted to only take a couple of weeks, delays prevented the coffee shop from opening until this month.
