
Fairhope Public Library recently held the grand opening of the newest addition to their beautiful building: their Local Authors Room. It’s no secret that Alabama’s coast is full of great talent, from fiction authors to biographers to non-fiction writers. Fairhope Public Library decided to celebrate this by creating a specific space for readers + curious locals alike to commemorate that talent.

A NEW CHAPTER AT FAIRHOPE LIBRARY
Last week, the library announced on their socials that they would be hosting a grand opening on April 20, which was timed in conjunction with National Library Week (April 19 – 25). If you weren’t able to make it to the grand opening, here’s what you missed:

A LOCAL AUTHORS ROOM TOUR, BY A LOCAL

To find this room within Fairhope Public Library, simply enter the 1st floor’s main room, then follow the trail of lit chandeliers to the back of the room. There, sitting proudly beneath the stained glass window, is the Local Authors Room.
The room features:
- A comfy chair sitting area
- Tables + wooden chairs
- A selection of local:
- Fiction
- Non-fiction
- Biographies
- A panel of windows (perfect for basking in the sunlight whilst getting lost in a story)
- An information guide to all local authors
