Street’s Restaurant recovers after devastating fire: How to help

On Saturday, Aug. 1, a fire struck Street’s Seafood Restaurant, leaving the local staple severely damaged and its staff suddenly without work. Multiple area fire departments responded to the scene at 251 US-31 within minutes of the call.

Ownership expressed gratitude that everyone remained safe during the incident, but the sudden closure has left the restaurant’s dedicated workforce facing immediate financial strain and lost wages.

Supporting Street’s Restaurant staff after the fire

In response to the fire, a community fundraiser was launched to provide direct financial assistance to the affected staff:

“The funds raised through this campaign will go directly to the employees of Street’s Restaurant, helping them cover essential living expenses and any loss of wages as they search for new employment.”

The GoFundMe campaign has a target goal of $12,000 to assist staff members during the transition. As of Monday, Aug. 3, more than $9,000 has been raised.
