Burton Property Group (BPG) shared updated designs for Riverwalk Plaza, the proposed 33-story mixed-use development on the downtown Mobile waterfront. Condo registration opens Nov. 12.
The larger design includes expanded retail and shopping areas and additional condo units, according to BPG. It keeps waterfront access over the CSX rail line and reflects feedback from the City of Mobile, the State of Alabama and the Alabama Port Authority.

The project was announced in December 2023 with plans for a hotel, restaurants, retail, office space and condos, and it was expected to break ground in 2025. BPG has not announced a new groundbreaking date.
A rendering from BPG labels these features:
- Rooftop bar, restaurant + event spaces
- Hotel, residences + office space
- Pools for the hotel + residences
- Spa + wellness area
- Hotel banquet room
- Riverfront retail + Riverwalk Terraces
Register for Riverwalk Plaza condos

BPG and Brett Real Estate/Robinson Development Company (Brett/Robinson) will open registration at 8AM Thursday, Nov. 12.
- Deposit: Buyers can register with a refundable $5,000 deposit
- Pricing: One-bedroom units are expected to start at a pre-construction price of $790,000
Registration lets buyers hold their place in line to reserve a unit at a price below the projected market price at completion. Once construction begins, registrants who signed a reservation agreement can convert it into a purchase agreement.
BPG President and CEO Philip Burton said the launch moves the project into its next phase.
“With this step, we’re moving from the design and engineering process into sales and pre-construction activities.”

Brett/Robinson is the listing broker for the residences. Managing member John Brett highlighted the waterfront location.
“As the only waterfront condominium offering in Mobile, this project combines riverfront living with convenient access to downtown’s entertainment and business districts.”
