After many months of renovations, the Gulf State Park Pier Observatory is now open to the public! This new observatory includes features that make it accessible to everyone.

Here’s a quick run down:

Location: 20800 E Beach Blvd, Gulf Shores
Pier Hours: All day, every day
Observatory Hours: 7AM-7PM

With the number of fishers that line the pier daily, the observation deck provides an elevated viewing experience for onlookers to stay out of the direct line of fishing rods.

The observation deck closed after it withstood severe hurricane damage in 2023 and officially reopened on May 1, 2026. The pier features many amenities for fishers including a bait + tackle shop, concession stand, and areas to clean freshly caught fish.
