Mobile Ob-Gyn announced this week it will wind down clinical operations and close the practice located in USA Health’s Providence Medical Office Plaza. The group was founded in 1953 and delivers more than 1,300 babies each year.
The practice assured its patients that they are dedicated to ensuring continuity of care and access to medical records, according to a letter posted on social media Wednesday, May 13.
“To all of our wonderful patients: we understand your frustration about this terrible news. As soon as we receive more details about where your providers will transition to and the final date of our closure, we will share that information immediately.
“We ask for your patience and understanding while we try to handle the continuation of care for all of our established patients over the next several weeks.”

In the coming days, the practice said in the letter to patients, information regarding where individual doctors will practice next will be released.
