The Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce is getting national recognition for helping residents get to work.
The chamber’s MoGo Rideshare program is a finalist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s 2026 Citizens Awards. It’s one of 37 finalists across nine categories.
Over the summer, the chamber also earned a finalist spot for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives’ Chamber of the Year award.
MoGo Rideshare finalist in economic opportunity category
MoGo is competing in the Best Economic Opportunity and Empowerment Program category alongside big names like Citigroup, Marriott International and the Nasdaq Foundation.
The Mobile Area Chamber Foundation launched MoGo in 2024 as an on-demand, app-based microtransit pilot. It was built to tackle a common barrier to employment and career training: reliable transportation.
Bradley Byrne, president and CEO of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, said the program grew out of treating transportation as a workforce issue.
“We saw transportation not simply as a transit issue, but as a workforce issue. MoGo gave us the opportunity to test a new approach to connecting people with jobs and career opportunities, and the results demonstrated just how significant that need was.”
