Mobile-based Continental Aerospace sold for $535M

Continental Aerospace Technologies, a Mobile-based aircraft engine manufacturing company, is being sold for roughly $535 million.
Arcline Investment Management has announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the holding company of Continental. The transaction is supported by “irrevocable undertakings from the controlling shareholders.”

Continental Aerospace Technologies to remain in Mobile
Founded in 1905, Continental is considered a leading designer and manufacturer of piston aircraft engines and provider of related aftermarket products and services for the general aviation market.
The company first moved some operations to Mobile in 1966. In 2019, Continental built a new facility in near the Mobile International Airport.
The Company’s portfolio includes both AvGas and Jet-A engines, as well as aftermarket products and services that support a large global installed base of general aviation aircraft.
The new ownership group has not announced any plans to move the company from Mobile.
