Gulf Shores lands 2027 World ParaVolley Standing Beach Volleyball Championships

World ParaVolley announced Thursday, Aug. 6, that the Gulf Coast Region of USA Volleyball’s bid to host the 2027 World ParaVolley Standing Beach Volleyball Championships has been officially accepted.

The event will bring elite standing beach ParaVolley athletes from around the world to Alabama’s Gulf Coast from May 3-10, 2027.

This is a milestone for both Gulf Shores and the sport itself. Organizers say the championships will serve as a premier showcase for standing beach ParaVolley as it continues working toward inclusion in future Paralympic Games programs.

The bid was backed by Alabama’s Beaches Sports & Events and the City of Gulf Shores, alongside World ParaVolley and USA Volleyball’s Gulf Coast Region. Together, those partners are gearing up to welcome international teams, delegations and fans to the coast.
