The secret’s out! The Alabama Wildlife Federation has been working tirelessly to get the Delta & Bay Conservation Center that Alabamians know + love up and running — and it’s time for its grand reveal. The opening ceremony will be held at Delta Hall, where visitors can meet the team that will be running the center.
Spanish Fort’s gem, previously known as 5 Rivers Delta Resource Center, has been a beloved part of the Mobile Bay region since its 2008 opening. From weddings to field trips + the iconic Gator Chase, the center has been featured in countless Alabamians’ memories.
Now, AWF is ready to help make more.
Established in 1935, the Alabama Wildlife Federation is devoted to the conservation + wise use of wildlife/natural resources. They believe in creating a connection between the outdoors + young people and adults — ensuring a high quality of life for generations to come.
Their headquarters are located in Millbrook, AL, where their beautiful Lanark campus boasts the Alabama Nature Center. Since 2003, the nature center has fostered a love of wildlife for children + adults alike through their conservation education programs.
Tim Gothard, who has served as the Executive Director of the Alabama Wildlife Federation for 28 years, will be leading the grand opening ceremony alongside the center’s staff.
