Fantasy Island Toys returns to its roots for 50th anniversary

A beloved Fairhope local business is sporting a new look with a nod to its past. In anticipation of its 50th anniversary this fall, Fantasy Island Toys recently repainted its iconic downtown storefront, reverting to the business’s original branding palette.
Fairhope toy store embraces original brand colors
The building, located at 335 Fairhope Avenue, now features a clean scheme of bright red, royal blue, and cream. Co-owner Stephanie Bell noted that these specific shades reflect the store’s original logo.
“While these colors were also incorporated into the building’s previous paint scheme, we’ve simplified the palette to create a cleaner, more timeless look. Our hope is that it captures the charm and nostalgia of a classic neighborhood toy store while honoring the store’s long history.”

Downtown Fairhope landmark prepares for 50th anniversary
Fantasy Island Toys will officially mark 50 years of business in September. Additional anniversary celebrations and events are currently in the works to celebrate the half-century mark with the community, Bell said.
As part of the celebration, the store has been gathering stories from locals about the memories they’ve made at Fantasy Island Toys.
“If you have a memory, a favorite toy, or an old photo from your time at Fantasy Island Toys, please share it with us.”
“We’ll be collecting and sharing these throughout the year because this story isn’t just ours… it’s yours too.”
