Fairhope rolls out America 250 festivities for the summer
Reading time: 3 minutes

The City of Fairhope has set a full summer lineup of America 250 celebrations with patriotic decor, community projects and historical exhibits, culminating in its traditional Independence Day celebration over Mobile Bay.
Downtown visitors will find red, white and blue pole banners, American flags and a themed downtown shuttle operating through the season. The Fairhope Museum of History is participating by opening its archives to feature rarely displayed artifacts and offering free commemorative America 250 postcards to guests.
These summer festivities build on several initiatives completed by the city earlier this year, which included:
- Planting 250 tree seedlings at the Flying Creek Nature Preserve
- Hosting Genealogy Day at the Fairhope Public Library
- Launching the community-driven Fairhope Transcription Project
Get ready for Fairhope’s 2026 Fourth of July celebration
The summer festivities peak Saturday, July 4, at Henry George Park and the Municipal Pier. The annual Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks Celebration will feature a performance by 250 musicians from the Baldwin Pops starting at 7:30 p.m. The evening concludes with a fireworks display over Mobile Bay at approximately 9:00 p.m.
Other America 250 celebrations in Baldwin County
Because Fairhope’s municipal festivities unfold alongside the statewide “Sweet Home 250” initiative, several adjacent regional projects are slated just outside the city limits:
June 26: Daphne’s America 250 Celebration
The Baldwin County Commission is partnering with the City of Daphne to host a free, family-friendly celebration marking the national milestone. The evening features a historical musical journey performed live by the 151st Army Band of the Alabama Army National Guard, alongside curated local archival exhibits, neighborhood food trucks, and children’s activities.

Coming Soon: Revolutionary Patriots Monument
History buffs can look forward to a new permanent addition to the local landscape. The Baldwin County Commission recently greenlit a proposal from the Daughters of the American Revolution to install a dedicated monument honoring the specific individuals and deep regional sacrifices that supported the cause of American independence.
Installation is scheduled for later this year at Baldwin County Bicentennial Park (51231B Hwy 225, Stockton). Read the formal county resolution here.
Ongoing: American Patriots Way Designation
In a formal nod to the area’s rich early American heritage, the county commission and the City of Spanish Fort have officially designated and renamed the local portions of State Route 225 as “American Patriots Way.” The celebratory route is designed to connect key regional historic landmarks and heritage sites, including Historic Blakeley State Park, throughout the semiquincentennial year.
City officials indicated that more America 250 updates will follow later this year. Residents can find updates on the city’s official website at fairhopeal.gov or through municipal social media channels.
