Inaugural Boyington Oak Day

The inaugural Boyington Oak Day, as proclaimed by the Mobile City Council, will be celebrated to honor one of Mobile’s oldest and most famous legends, Charles Boyington, at the site of the Boyington Oak. Azalea Trail Maids and Mobile Belles will greet guests, there will be a performances and Secret History Tours will provide free tours for attendees.
🌳 Charles Boyington, journeyman printer, poet and musician was hanged for the murder of his critically ill best friend. As he predicted would happen to prove his innocence, an oak tree grew from his gravesite and still stands almost 200 years later.
This celebration is sponsored in part by the Mobile County Commission and the Mobile City Council.
