First Friday: Bees & Keepers

From ancient cave paintings and old stories, religious texts and cultural traditions to today’s industrial farming practices, bees have been a constant source of food and reverence for humankind. In this First Friday lecture, Veronica Culberson, local apiarist and MBG beekeeper, and Dr. Don Culberson, Professor of Sciences at Spring Hill College, will take us on a journey to discover how our relationship with these tiny helpers has evolved over the ages. Find out how beekeeping practices have developed and vary across the globe and how we can work together with bees for our common good.
This lecture has a tasty finish – after learning how vastly different honey from different sources can be, taste it for yourself with a honey tasting!
First Friday is free for Garden members and included with admission for non-members.
