April Walking Tours | The Pelican Girls
April 18 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am

Visit Mobile is pleased to announce the return of free walking tours, taking place every Saturday in April 2026!
April 18: The Pelican Girls – Step into the origin story of Mobile through the eyes of the Pelican Girls, the first group of cassette girls sent to the colony in 1704. These teenage girls crossed an ocean into an uncertain world and, through resilience and resolve, helped shape the future of a new city.
This guided tour visits historic Fort Condé, the new Pelican Girls historical marker and other sites central to their journey, exploring how their lives and choices laid the foundations of community, culture and continuity in early Mobile.
All tours depart from the Visit Mobile Welcome Center located at 111 South Royal Street in Downtown Mobile and begin promptly at 10 a.m., lasting approximately 1 hour.
These tours are offered at no charge, no reservations are required! We ask that you please arrive by 9:45 a.m. to ensure an on-time departure.
Add your event for free to our calendar. Entries may be edited for brevity.
