David Rodgers to succeed Bradley Byrne as Mobile Chamber CEO

The Mobile Chamber tapped David Rodgers as the organization’s next president and CEO designate. The transition is already underway, but he’ll officially step into the top role when current President and CEO Bradley Byrne retires on July 1, 2027.
Rodgers took on the president and CEO designate role on Aug. 3 under a leadership transition plan the board put in place ahead of Byrne’s departure. Before making the call, the board dug into a full executive leadership evaluation and came away confident that the right leader was already on the team.
Board chairman Teresa Williamson said the process was all about finding someone ready to carry the chamber into its next chapter, and pointed to Rodgers’ leadership, integrity and strategic vision as the qualities that set him apart.
David Rodgers’ Career at the Mobile Chamber
Rodgers isn’t new to the chamber. He’s been part of the team since 2015, working his way up through senior leadership roles, most recently as executive vice president.
Along the way, he’s helped drive economic development wins that added up to billions of dollars in announced capital investment and thousands of new jobs across the Mobile region. He’s a certified economic developer with a reputation for bringing people together and championing Mobile’s business community.
Bradley Byrne + local business leaders react to Rodgers’ appointment
Byrne, a former U.S. representative for Alabama’s 1st congressional district, will stick around through the transition to help things go smoothly. He said he has full confidence in Rodger, both as a leader and as someone who genuinely cares about this community. Rodgers, for his part, said he’s grateful for the board’s trust and excited to keep working alongside the chamber team to open up new opportunities for the region.
Mike Jordan and Patrick Murphy of Alabama Power Company praised Rodgers’ deep understanding of the region and his track record in economic development and business advocacy.
