DESCRIPTION:Dog River Clearwater Revival (DRCR) is set to host the 10th Annual MudBottom Revival Music Festival\, an afternoon of live music dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Dog River improvement projects. \n\n\n\nThe event will take place on Sunday\, May 4th\, at the end of Riviere Du Chien Road (Bender Point – 3619 Riviere Du Chien Road) from 1 PM to 6 PM\, with general admission gates opening at 12:30 PM. \n\n\n\nCelebrating its 10th anniversary\, this year’s festival will feature an expanded three-band lineup\, headlined by Jimmy Hall & Friends\, alongside performances by Will Kimbrough & Friends and Red & the Revelers. \n\n\n\n\nJimmy Hall gained recognition as the lead vocalist\, saxophonist\, and harmonica player for the Mobile-based band Wet Willie. His blend of R&B-infused rock and roll and dynamic stage presence promises an exciting performance.\n\n\n\nWill Kimbrough\, a versatile musician and Mobile local\, has released nine albums and is a MudBottom favorite. Having performed at the festival numerous times\, his return is highly anticipated.\n\n\n\nRed & the Revelers\, led by Red Padilla\, deliver a high-energy swamp soul experience\, complete with a full horn section that brings an electrifying presence to the stage.\n\n\n\n\nAttendees of this family-friendly fundraising event are encouraged to bring coolers\, picnic blankets\, and chairs to enjoy live music beneath the oak-shaded banks of Dog River. Please note that tents\, sun umbrellas\, and pets are not permitted. Children 12 and under can attend for free\, and food and MudBottom merchandise will be available for purchase. \n\n\n\nTickets purchased before May 4th allow attendees to arrive by vehicle\, bike\, kayak\, canoe\, stand-up paddleboard\, or boat. Boat taxis will transport ticket holders from anchored spots to the dock. Restroom facilities will be available on-site. \n\n\n\nCarpooling is encouraged due to limited parking. At each location\, participants will take a selfie and scratch off the clue on their sheet. The first 24 individuals to complete all 10 stops and return their sheet to the tent will win a prize. All others will receive a participation certificate. \n\n\n\nThe Kids Zone on N. Claiborne Street will feature scavenger hunt crafts\, interactive games\, and hands-on activities\, providing a fun-filled experience for young explorers. Meanwhile\, S. Claiborne Street will host the Non-Profit Zone\, where attendees can engage with local organizations. \n\n\n\nLODA ArtWalk continues to support artists\, performers\, and nonprofits.

Accepted items include appliances\, computers\, printers\, flat-screen TVs and monitors\, household goods\, yard debris\, scrap metal\, clothing\, microwaves\, electronics\, and up to ten tires. Hazardous waste\, dump trailers\, and business waste will not be accepted. DESCRIPTION:Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson (1940 – 2015) was an exceptionally prolific artist who used traditional and unconventional\, non-traditional materials to create a staggering body of work. Her drawings\, paintings\, sculptures\, and mixed-media textiles chronicle her family’s African ancestry\, her worldwide travels\, and her witness to African American life. A MacArthur Fellow\, Robinson was also a researcher\, historian\, and poet who used her vast talents to draw harmony into a discordant world. When Robinson passed away\, she entrusted her art\, writing\, personal belongings\, and home studio to the Columbus Museum of Art in Ohio\, her hometown museum.  \n\n\n\n Aminah Robinson: Journeys Home\, a Visual Memoir brings together some of the artist’s most profound works and words\, produced over seven decades from 1948 to 2012. Drawing upon Robinson’s historical research\, folklore\, and personal narrative\, the exhibition presents a visual memoir of the artist’s life and a compelling tableau of the African American experience.

DESCRIPTION:Handle with Care is a new interactive exhibition exploring all the potential of what we take for granted.In a partnership exhibition originated by Alabama Contemporary Art Center for Mobile Museum of Art\, artists Calder Kamin (Austin\, TX) and Jacob Reptile (New Orleans\, LA) transform trash into soft and complex sculptures to create a new kind of environment. Through purposeful reuse of fabrics\, plastics and second-hand materials\, these artists create new alien lifeforms\, flora and fauna to populate an imagined landscape.The space they have created speaks to local ecology\, the environmental impact of waste and inspires a playful consideration of what we produce through industry. Everything here was once discarded\, now re-purposed into a mythical topography that celebrates vibrant and unfettered growth\, and invites viewers to inhabit the exhibition as they consider how we inhabit the natural world we live in.Everything has been touched by human hands and can be touched. Everything can find purpose with a little imagination\, and the work of making a sustainable planet can also happen through play.
