Fun Run awards will be given to the top three overall boys and girls. \n\n\n\nOnline registration is available until 10:00 p.m. CST on Thursday\, March 6\, 2025. Participants may also register in person at Eastern Shore Baptist Church or by mail\, with entries received by noon on Friday\, March 7\, 2025. DESCRIPTION:Mobile County’s Earth Day Celebration will take place on Saturday\, April 26\, 2025\, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the newly reopened Chickasabogue Park. \n\n\n\nThe event promises a lively and engaging day with live music from Ryan Balthrop and The New Cahoots\, a native plant giveaway\, vendors\, lawn games\, a rock climbing wall\, nature walks\, children’s activities\, storytime\, caricature drawings\, food trucks\, and much more. \n\n\n\nSponsored by the Mobile County Commission\, Keep Mobile Beautiful\, Earth Day Mobile Bay\, and the Sierra Club\, the celebration will also include the Love Your Community teams’ check presentation at noon. \n\n\n\nLove Your Community is a program of the Mobile County Commission in partnership with Keep Mobile Beautiful. Through this initiative\, volunteer teams earn beautification grant dollars based on volunteer hours dedicated to litter-reduction\, recycling\, and similar community improvement efforts. Designed for both aspiring and experienced poets\, the workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of poetry and visual art while connecting with fellow literary enthusiasts. \n\n\n\nSpace is limited to the first 15 members who register. Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite writing tools—whether pens\, pencils\, notepads\, an iPad\, or even a typewriter—along with a water bottle and a small snack or sack lunch if desired.

For safety reasons\, skateboards\, scooters\, hoverboards\, and bicycles will not be permitted.

DESCRIPTION:Mobile County residents will have the opportunity to dispose of unwanted household items and yard debris for free during the spring 2025 Operation Clean Sweep events\, held from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the following locations: \n\n\n\n\nSouth Mobile County – May 10\, 2025 • 7195 Half Mile Rd.\, Irvington\n\n\n\n\nHosted annually by the Mobile County Department of Environmental Enforcement\, these events aim to keep Mobile County clean by offering residents a responsible way to dispose of or recycle household discards and yard waste. \n\n\n\nEach household is limited to one load\, and proof of residency is required. Accepted items include appliances\, computers\, printers\, flat-screen TVs and monitors\, household goods\, yard debris\, scrap metal\, clothing\, microwaves\, electronics\, and up to ten tires. Hazardous waste\, dump trailers\, and business waste will not be accepted.
