The Jaguar Marching Band is currently 250 members strong and performs at a wide variety of events on South Alabama’s campus\, as well as throughout the Mobile community and the Gulf Coast.  Membership is by audition and students are provided with university owned instruments\, custom rehearsal space\, a dedicated practice field with lighting\, as well as a comprehensive faculty and staff.  The JMB is continually evolving and growing along with Jaguar Football and the band has gained a reputation for excellence in their musicianship and marching.  The band is under the direction of Dr. Robert Abend\, Associate Director of Bands/Director of the Jaguar Marching Band; Dr. Will Petersen\, Director of Bands; and Dr. Clayton Maddox\, Assistant Director of Bands.

Prizes awarded for Overall\, Top Male and Female and several other age group categories. \nDogs ARE NOT allowed in the 5K but owners with pets on a leash may participate in the Fun Run. A course map is available at www.portcitypacers.com. \n\n\n\nRegistration:\n\n\n\nParticipants may pre-register by mail (postmarked by February 7)\, in person at McCoy Outdoor\, Run-N-Tri\, or Fleet Feet in Mobile until noon on February 13\, or online at Events.com until 6 AM on February 14. Early packet pick-up and late registration will take place at the PCP office (358 Morgan Ave) on Friday\, February 14\, from noon to 5:30 PM. Race day registration will be available at Fort Gaines from 7:00 to 8:00 AM. \n\n\n\nAwards:\n\n\n\nAwards will be presented to the top three male and female overall finishers\, as well as the top male and female Masters\, Grandmasters\, Senior Grandmasters\, Wheelchair\, and Race Walkers. Additionally\, the top three male and female finishers in each five-year age group will be recognized. \n\n\n\nShirts:\n\n\n\nParticipants who register by February 1 are guaranteed a premium BOMB 5K shirt. DESCRIPTION:Pre-registration for the John Wesley Holt Legacy Run closes on Wednesday\, February 19\, at midnight. On-site registration will be available on race day beginning at 12 p.m.\, though fees will increase. Only participants registered by February 19 are guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt. \n\n\n\nThe event celebrates the life of John Wesley Holt with a 5K course and Fun Run open to runners and walkers\, starting and finishing at St. Luke’s Episcopal School in Mobile\, Alabama. Proceeds from the event support the John Wesley Holt Scholarship Fund\, established in memory of John Wesley Holt\, Class of 2021. John Wesley\, tragically lost in a hit-and-run accident on February 18\, 2023\, was an Eagle Scout and sophomore electrical engineering major at the University of South Alabama. The scholarship honors his dedication to character\, academics\, and athletics\, awarding a St. Luke’s senior who exemplifies these values.
