Sunny Side Theater: Oliver! Jr.

Audiences are invited to experience Oliver! JR., the Broadway Junior adaptation of Lionel Bart’s beloved musical based on Charles Dickens’ classic novel, Oliver Twist. This Tony and Olivier Award-winning production, one of the few musicals to earn an Academy Award for Best Picture, is celebrated as a true theatrical masterpiece by both performers and audiences.

The streets of Victorian England come alive as the story follows Oliver, a malnourished orphan who escapes the harsh conditions of a workhouse and the cruelty of an undertaker. Arriving in London, Oliver finds companionship among a group of petty thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. When Oliver is wrongfully accused of theft, the kind-hearted Mr. Brownlow takes him in, offering a glimpse of a loving family life. However, Oliver’s newfound safety is threatened when Fagin, fearing exposure, enlists the sinister Bill Sikes and the compassionate Nancy to kidnap Oliver back.
