M.A.A.D. Hand Drumming

Adults interested in learning the art of hand drumming are invited to participate in free classes led by Mr. Wayne Curtis, Founder and CEO of the Mobile Alabama Africatown Drummers (M.A.A.D.). In partnership with the Alabama State Council on the Arts, Mr. Curtis offers a unique opportunity to explore the cultural richness and musical traditions of African, Afro-Caribbean, and African American rhythms.

Held at the Hope Community Center, these classes provide participants with a chance to find their rhythm while gaining insight into the cultural influences that continue to shape modern music.
