Azalea Trail Run presented by PNC BankRRCA State 10K Championship

The Azalea Trail Run returns for its 47th year, offering USATF-certified 10K and 5K race courses, along with a 2K Fun Run/Walk. All races begin and end in downtown Mobile, featuring flat and fast routes with water and comfort stations available along the way.

Race Details:

  • The 10K course will close two hours after the race begins. Participants who have not finished by 10 AM will be asked to move to the sidewalk.
  • Course Restrictions – For safety reasons, strollers, baby joggers, rollerblades, balls, bicycles, headphones, earbuds, and pets are not permitted on the 5K and 10K courses.

Team Competition – 10K and 5K

The Azalea Trail Run encourages friendly team competition in categories including open, corporate, church, school, and military.

  • Each team member registers individually.
  • Team captains must submit a team roster by March 7, 2025.
  • Winning teams will receive custom-designed awards.

Wheelchair Division – 10K Only

The wheelchair race will follow regulations established by Wheelchairsports U.S.A.

ATR Expo – Race Day Celebration

The ATR Expo will feature medical and merchandise vendors, free health screenings, music, and post-race festivities.

5K/10K Charity Chip – $5,000 in Donations

Thanks to PNC Bank’s support, the Azalea Trail Run will donate $1,000 to each of five charities, chosen by randomly selected 5K or 10K finishers.

  • Participants will wear numbered timing chips on their shoes, which must be returned after the race.
  • Five chips will be drawn, and the selected runners will choose a legitimate charity to receive the donation.

Fun Run School Drawing – $500 Award

Fun Run participants will wear race bibs with detachable pull tags collected at the finish line. One tag will be drawn, and the participant associated with that number will select an elementary, middle, or high school to receive a $500 donation from the ATR’s Richard Overbey Scholarship Fund.

Participant Perks:

  • Official short-sleeved race shirts for all registered participants.
  • Discounted tickets for the Child Advocacy Center’s Downtown Cajun Cookoff on March 22, 2025, from 10 AM – 2 PM in Cathedral Square.
  • Eligibility for the 5K/10K Charity Chip Drawing – five charities will receive $1,000 each.
  • Eligibility for the Fun Run School Drawing – one school will receive $500.

The Azalea Trail Run continues to be a celebrated tradition, combining competitive racing, community spirit, and charitable giving in the heart of Mobile.
